Graduation

Graduation. Graduation. Such an amazing time that brings friends and family from across states and even seas together to celebrate a milestone that has been conquered. This passed graduation was so exciting for me despite the fact that I myself did not walk across the stage. Leading up to graduation as I watched my friends get their cords and decorate their hats I really was itching to graduate with them and finally get out of Huntsville (and I still am). However, I knew once graduation time came around those feeling of sadness needed to be out the window so I could genuinely be happy for my friends.

Due to transferring after my freshman year and changing my major and career direction multiple times I wasn't able to graduate this year. My career has been something that has been weighing on my mind lately and unlike others who had picked out their career path from elementary school and high school I always felt like the odd one out who was always trying new careers to find my perfect fit. While others excelled in their purpose I often felt anxious and like I was running out of time.

As my last year comes around and I'm wrapping up my undergrad experience however I'm trying to really zone in on my talents. I feel as though I didn't know my career path because I didn't quite know my talents and things that came to me naturally. I started to think more on what I was naturally good at and the things I did without thinking. I know I'm close to finding my purpose and I hope for anyone else who is struggling in finding their niche in undergrad is able to relate and understand that there is no need to compare yourself to others who might have found their groove quicker. As my Dad always tells me no matter how long it takes the time will pass anyway. In times of darkness and we feel we might be buried is often times when we'll realize our seeds have been planted and we will bloom.

It wasn't easy writing this post especially after going so long without blogging but I've decided to be raw and to give you a peak into what you guys have missed. Welcome back to The Gabby Files.

XOXO, Gabrielle
