Be Intentional
2018 was a whirlwind of lessons learned but my word for 2019 is focus. Focus in my work, finances, business, friendships, relationships and everything in between. Be very intentional this year with everything you do and the results will surprise you! I'm usually very indecisive and tend to slip into decisions but that is a big NO for me in 2019! Starting with my finances here are a couple tips that i've learned and decided to share with you!
1. Budget
Intentionally working on a budget is a life changer. Set a budget for the week and plan all your needs into it. Food is something I highly recommend using a budget on. It helps to write out what you're getting from the grocery store on a piece of paper and meal prep so you never run out of food. Eating out too much definitely digs holes in your pockets and we're saving this year! It's okay to tell friends and family you can't do certain things because it exceeds your budget learn to say no with confidence. I always used to say I'm done spending and then be the first one out the door as soon as people try to go out to eat. Remember though, you never miss out on important things when you're grinding and staying focused!
2.Saving
Saving is so hard sometimes when you feel like there's so many things that we "want" (trust me i've been there many times). Sometimes the line between what we need and what we want can feel so thin but it's important to make the distinction. Set up your savings account and don't transfer money out of it! If you're like me though and it's tempting, withdraw cash and hide it somewhere in your room and don't touch it or use it. Even when you're low on funds move like your broke don't dig into you're savings to compensate just budget better next time.
3. Workaholic
It's great to work and get all your things done so that you can live the lifestyle you want but don't sacrifice it for things like sleep, school work, and food. Ive been there and done that and it doesn't end well. Like I said earlier money is important but it isn everything!
